Dear Cravens’ Families,

Welcome Back to another wonderful year at Cravens Early Childhood Academy! Entering preschool and kindergarten is one of the most important educational experiences in your child's life, and we are thankful for your trust in us. We want this experience to truly be a positive one and full of remarkable memories.

Our teachers are passionate about what they do every day in their classrooms, as they make sure your child has experiences that promote growth and development for the child as a whole. We will carry on with the best practices that make Cravens the Early Childhood Academy that it is. This year I am very excited about our Fueling Brains program that we are offering for all our PK students.   Our goal in partnering with Fueling Brains, is to provide the best possible education for your child while we foster their brain development. Helping our students become individuals who are fearless, make conscious decisions, manage their impulses, regulate their emotions, are flexible, quickly adapt to change, remain confident and happy.

Over the past several years, your home has served as the center of interest in your child's life. Beginning the home to school partnership is important for success in preschool and kindergarten. Parent and teacher partnerships are critical for this success. As a learning community we encourage you to support your child by taking an interest in schoolwork, school activities and regularly communicating with your child's teacher. We will continue to utilize the SeeSaw app to communicate with our parents this year.  Your child's teacher will be explaining this app and process to you.

For additional information or questions, please don't hesitate to contact the school.  Again, I could not be more excited than to welcome you to Cravens Early Childhood Academy community!

Maria B. Vives, Principal

Assistant Principal

I am so excited to be the Assistant Principal for Cravens Academy! I have been a part of the Sheldon ISD family for 16 years of my education career, all of which take place at the early childhood level.  It is my belief that the foundational grade levels are critical in developing a child’s love and appreciation for education.

I received a bachelors degree from Texas State University-San Marcos and a masters degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.  I love learning and am a life-long learner!

I look forward to partnering with parents and this wonderful community in creating a warm, loving, and exploration-based environment for our amazing Cravens Cubs!
