New KHS ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated by Sheldon ISD community on Jan. 6

It was estimated that between 1,000-1,200 individuals from in and around the Sheldon community came out Monday evening to celebrate the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new C. E. King High School.
Sheldon ISD Superintendent Dr. King Davis thanked those in attendance, as well current and past Sheldon ISD school board members, for helping make this dream a reality following a May 2016 bond election where more than 70 percent of voters approved a $285 million bond package that included Sheldon Lake Elementary, Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium, and the new C. E. King High School.
Campus tours were also provided after Monday's brief program where community members had an opportunity to see this awesome new facility that was incorporated to drive 21st century learning.

KHS boys basketball program to participate in 'Coaches vs. Cancer' fundraising challenge in partnership with the National Association of Basketball Coaches and American Cancer Society

The C. E. King High School boys basketball program will be participating in the Coaches vs. Cancer Campaign – a program that is designed is to help raise awareness and to help save lives by encouraging people to educate themselves about cancer prevention, screening, and early detection.

The game the Panthers have set aside for this event will be Friday, Jan. 24, against LaPorte as part of the national "Suits And Sneakers Week."

City of Houston to declare Nov. 10 as 'Sesame Street Day' in honor of 50 years

This year marks 50 years since the first episode of “Sesame Street” aired, and America’s first PBS station is celebrating by asking Houstonians to share their favorite childhood memories on social media using the hashtag #ThisIsMyStreet. The digital campaign also features an eight-part series called I Grew Up on Sesame Street that spotlights local residents and their personal relationships with the heartwarming show.
