Chris Hopkins of Stantec architects, the designers of the new performing and visual arts campus, told board members that a committee was formed whose task was to come up with a list of possible names for the new facility.
Hopkins presented six names to the board - as well as recommended the committee's top three selections.
Sheldon Lake Elementary is a tribute to nearby Sheldon Lake State Park, a traditional icon in the northeast Houston area as well as the Sheldon community.
